Staff Sergeant Baseemah Scott

Tara and Ernest met about 11 years ago – they were best friends until he proposed to her last year (2010), and they became husband and wife. She was so happy! We would have one of our talks in the hallway and in the middle of our conversation (we could have been talking about something totally different) she would say “I am so happy,” with the biggest smile on her face. It was because he made her very happy.

Master Sergeant Tara Brown took her job very seriously. Her next goal was to make senior master sergeant. When she was studying for master sergeant, she was also studying for her college degree. She would stay at work until 10 p.m. to study, then get up around 5 a.m. to go to the gym.

She loved to shop and have a good time with her friends and family. She always had cool stuff for us (friends) to do: fashion show at the Harbor, New Year’s 2010 Party at the L’Enfant Plaza Hotel, etc.

She loved clothes and shoes. Last summer we went to the base yard sale to sell our clothes. She had about 10 boxes full of clothes and shoes to sell and still had more in her car and more to give away at home. Things she loved: her family, her husband, the military, friends and shoes.
